QUESTION: What, How and Who do you charge?
ANSWER: We use three different ways in which we charge for our Event Videography services:
1) The Flat Fee
The sponsor/client pays a flat fee for shooting and editing of the event (plus copies) and distributes the production as they see fit.
2) The Registration Package
The sponsor/client includes the cost of the production directly into the registration fee and each atttendee receives a video when it is ready for distribution. The sponsor/client has a good indication of their profit and loss ratios (cost control) based on the event registration. This plan requires planning for the cost of the video in advance of registration.
3) The Speculation Package
If the sponsor/client has not had time to plan ahead for the registration package they must speculate and guarantee a minimum sale quantity to cover the cost of the production. Video sales beyond the minimum go to the sponsor/client minus duplication costs.
The event complexity and duration are major factors in how the production will be charged. Each event is unique and the best course of action is to meet with one of our representatives to determine the price and method that best serves your need.
QUESTION: What are your terms of payment?
ANSWER: We accept Visa, Mastercard, and American Express so the cost can be financed through a company or personal credit card.
QUESTION: Do you travel?
ANSWER: We charge a nominal fee for location setups and we charge for mileage outside Scott and Rock Island counties. If air travel is required, that cost is also extra. Our business has taken us as far West as San Francisco and as far East as Atlanta.
QUESTION: Do you transfer VHS to DVD?

QUESTION: Do you transfer still pictures to video?

QUESTION: Can you duplicate a video we got from someone else?
ANSWER: Our duplication facilities are primarily for our clients. If we produced the video, we will duplicate it at a compeditive rate. If a third party has made the video, we may require a release from the copyright holder before we can copy it.
QUESTION: Can you help me decide if video is the proper medium for my event?
ANSWER: Yes. That is why we offer FREE consultations before any agreement is created or signed. Visuals and sound are important to any video production. We will help you determine if our services are appropriate for your event.
QUESTION: How long have you been in business?
ANSWER: I have been in the production business since 1977 with a background in radio and TV commercial production. I decided to create my own company, Sands Media Productions, in April of 1999.
QUESTION: Can you provide me with references?
ANSWER: Our list of satisfied customers grow daily. We will be happy to supply you with clients who match your type of service.
QUESTION: What type of equipment do you use?
ANSWER: We shoot primarily with Canon HDV digital cameras and perform non-linear editing on Adobe Premiere Pro. We have a full range of field equipment to meet your needs, including wireless mics, lighting, etc.
QUESTION: Do you do still photography too?
ANSWER: No, but I have a short list of wonderful professional photographers in our area. We can print still frames from the digital video we shoot and print them out on photographic paper with amazing results. It is not, however, the same resolution you will get from a professional large format still camera, but sometimes its the only way to get a certain shot that was missed by others.
